Bismillahirrahmnirrahim. First of all, I would like to congratulate Volkswagen Group Malaysia, especially the road assist team for a very good service rendered to me yesterday. Rest assured, the 5-year mobility guarantee is a guarantee, purely no extra charge whatsoever.
So what happened was; last Wednesday night when I was driving the car around the neighbourhood, the front left brake squeals loudly. It sounds as if something is hardly applying force to the disc. My worst case assumption was the possibility of jammed calliper. The simplest cause maybe as simple as an unlucky chip stone stucked in any of the brake assembly. I dare not to continue driving, thus drive it back home slowly.
It was around 11.30pm when I dialled the VW Road Assist emergency number (1800-88-2389, keep this number in your mobile!). They offered me to tow the car straight away that night to the nearest service center which is FA Wagen in Glenmarie. I prefer not to have the car sleep there, so I requested them to come the next morning.
The next day, a tow truck arrived about 8.30am, towed the car, arrived 9.30am at FA Wagen and by 10.30am all solved. It was because of chip stone stuck somewhere in the brake assembly. Lucky that I didn't continue to drive that both pads and disc are not damaged. All-in-all, good service at no costs at all, it's all FREE!
